All times UTC // parallel *sign-on/sign-off*

Albania
7210, 2258-2302.+ Radio International China relay. Chinese pop tune before 2300 (what was that sound from Mao's tomb?) then Spanish station ID, program notes and news. SIO 4+54-. On //7250 via China (Harold Frodge, MI/Cumbre DX)

Argentina
11710.28v, RAE, *0002. Station IDs for RAE and into Portuguese programming. Interval signal at 0057, pips signal at the top-of-the hour. Multi-lingual IDs, 0107 into Japanese. Drifted up to about .38.

15345.0, RAE, 2324. Spanish with tango music, pips signal at 2330. Interval signal and multi lingual IDS to 2357.* It’s been a long time since I found them exactly on frequency. (Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

Australia
2310, 1213-1230, VL8A Alice Springs, NT. Female host with guest musician (didn't catch her name) chatting about her music and played two of her songs, // 2325 and 2485, all three freqs at stunning level at 1215 peak, best reception of these in a long time. (John Wilkins, CO/Cumbre DX)

Bolivia
6155.36, 1025-1035, Radio Fides. At tune in, noted a female in live Spanish comments. She is joined by a male who comments briefly. At 1030 comments continue. Signal was poor. (Chuck Bolland, FL)

6155.36, 1003-1045, Radio Fides. It took some tuning, but heard a female in Spanish language presenting the news until 1006. This was followed with canned promos or ads ? A second female follows with more comments. The signal fades in and out during the period. At one point (1030-34)it seemed like the signal was off the air for a couple of minutes. However, at 1034 the signal fade in and was audible a few more minutes. (Chuck Bolland,FL)

Brazil
5940, 0935-1000, Radio Guaruja Paulista, (presumed). Heard music buried in the noise at tune in. Eventually at 0941 a male begins talking in Portuguese. Briefly more music, then the announcer has a conversation with a female on the telephone. Signal is a poor quality, but that's better than usual, just like a "shadow" with no substance. Couple that with the noise, and it's a difficult situation to hear. At 0948, more music is presented. At 0952 conditions begin to deteriorate and the signal drops into the noise. This is probably my unid from last week, heard here. (Chuck Bolland, FL)

9645.41, Radio Bandeirantes, 1021-1030, Male/female hosing in Portuguese. Between the noise and weak signal, there's not much left of this station by 1030. (Chuck Bolland,FL)

9665.45, Radio Voz Missionaria, 1002-1015. Male announcer in Portuguese with religious comments, sounded like the preacher David Miranda heard on Radio Victoria, Peru in the mornings. Female announcer later joined in the activities. Signal was poor with noise. (Chuck Bolland, FL)

12175, 11355, 2315-2335, Super Radio Deus é Amor. Unstable, distorted spurs from 11765 with Portuguese preacher. Spurs +/- 410 kHz away from 11765. Very distorted in SSB. Much better in AM mode. 12175 very strong. 11355 very weak.// 6060 - poor with co-channel interference (Brian Alexander, PA)

Canada
6070, 2215-2225+ CFRX Toronto (Mississauga) Ontario. News-Talk 10-10 Time-Saver Traffic report. Commentary on political campaigning. Ad for Lease Busters and Chris Robinson Travel Show program promo. All in English. SIO 4+54, much better than //1010 CFRB. (Harold Frodge, MI/Cumbre DX)

Chad
6165, *0427-0459, RNT. Sign on with Balafon interval signal. National anthem at 0429. Opening French announcements at 0430. Afro-pop music at 0433. Weak but readable. Covered by Radio Nederland sign on at 0459. (Brian Alexander, PA)

Clandestine
6135 (ex: 5910), Shiokaze/Sea Breeze via Yamata, 1410. Back to their usual schedule of English on Wednesday, their former 5910 was in fact heavily jammed today, which is why Shiokaze made the move, no “message from the Japanese government” segment today. This now causes a half hour of heavy interference for Madagascar on 6134.9v.(Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

6297.06, 0745-0800, National Radio of Sahara AD. WRTH says this is coming from Rabouni, Algeria. Noted poliltical type speeches by a female and other comments by a male in Arabic. Near the end of the hour, popular music was presented. Signal fair. On the hour ID followed by national anthem type music then off the air. (Chuck Bolland, FL)

Dominican Republic
6025.07, 0305-0330, Radio Amanecer Internacional. Spanish Christian music. Spanish religious talk. Weak and poor signal. Difficult copy due to adjacent channel splatter(Brian Alexander, PA)

Eritrea
9710.03, (new freq) *0355-0410, Voice of the Broad Masses of Eritrea. Station sign on with interval signal and talk at 0400. Some local Horn of Africa music. Fair to good. // 7175 - poor with noise jammer. (Brian Alexander, PA)

Ethiopia
6090, Amhara State Radio (tentative),*0257-0315. Open carrier noted 0238, on with station interval signal to African music. Brief announcement at 0301, but unable to make out language. More African music to reciting from the Qur’an. Anguilla off the air - difficult to measure frequency with interference from an unidentified station, but seemed lower than 6090.0. Per feedback from Brandon Jordan, I probably heard both Kaduna and Amhara mixing together, as he has heard reciting from the Qur’an via Nigeria in the past, but not via Ethiopia. Thanks for your expert help Brandon!(Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

9560, 1440, Radio Ethiopia (tentative and presumed). Arabic with Ethiopian music and little talk. Very low modulation, but otherwise good and clear signal. No sign of KSDA which is supposed to be here according to AOKI.... CRI carrier flattened the neighborhood at 1500 UTC (Al Muick, Kabul, Afghanistan)

Germany
6190, 0421-0430, Deutschlandfunk Radio (Berlin Britz) German talk by man/woman. A minute of slow instrumental music at 0424, then more talk. Slow vocal music at 0429, 3 + 1 time pips at 0430 followed by an announcement and presumed news by man. Poor signal with fading. (Jim Evans, TN)

Indonesia
4604.93, RRI Serui has been silent for at least the last 12 days around the 1200 time frame. Drat. They were the best low-band Indo most mornings. (John Wilkins, CO/Cumbre DX)

9525.947, Voice of Indonesia, 1048-1100. Tune-in to musical interlude. During this period, the signal was good with just slight fading. (Chuck Bolland, FL)

9680.071, RRI Jakarta, 1100-1115. Tune-in to Qu'ran recitations in progress, followed by a male/female in Indonesian comments. Station ID at 1101 and more recitations. Another full ID at 1104 with national anthem for good signal (Chuck Bolland, FL)

9525.9v, 1125-1206, Voice of Indonesia. Rare that I tune in at this time period, so was
surprised to find this anomaly. English, rather than the scheduled Chinese. Mostly pop songs and announcer talking about the various bands. Station ID at 1201 to news, pop song and 1206 start of their programming in Japanese. (Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

Madagascar
5010 USB + carrier mode) RTVM. 1355. Decent reception via long path! IDs “Radio Madagascar” to ads, pop songs and phone calls. Noted on // 6134.9v and no signal heard on 7105. (Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

4910 USB, 0350-0400, Radio Madagasikara. Local African music. Talk in local language. Weak but readable. Nothing heard on 5010. New frequency or punch-up error. Thanks to DX Jari Savolainen for tip (Brian Alexander, PA)

Mongolia
4830, Mongolian Radio, 1325. Assume in Mongolian with easy-listening mus ic, clearly // 4895. Both freqs almost fair, but 4895 quickly mixing with assume AIR (All India Radio)which was fading in. Has been a while since I last heard both frequencies. (Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

9665, 1431 Voice of Mongolia. Mandarin service with station ID and news by female announcer. Fair signals with some heavy interference from a dead carrier 500Hz higher in frequency. (AL Muick, Kabul, Afghanistan).

Nigeria
6089.86, 0400-0435, FRCN Kaduna. Talk in listed Hausa. Qur`an. Poor to fair in noisy conditions. Anguilla 6090 off the air allowing this station to be heard. (Brian Alexander, PA)

North Korea
9650, Voice Of Korea, 1015-1030. Japanese service with comments from female, joined at 1019by male host. Fair signal quality. (Chuck Bolland, FL)

Papua New Guinea
3905, NBC New Ireland, 1221-1300. DJ with dedications in Tok Pisin playing all pop
island songs. Promo for “N-B-C Islands” dedication show. Bird call at 1300, “good night Papua New Guinea, the news roundup - I’m Dave …” (investigation into the plane crash that killed four, etc.)Best PNG station heard today. (Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

Peru
3329.61, 2340-2359, Radio Ondas del Huallaga. Noted a person in Spanish language comments. This is followed with Huaynos type music which continues until 2354. At that time noted some comments. 5930, 0710-0800, GTRK Kamchatka. Heard their local/regional programming “Radio Rossii Kamchatka” via the Yelizovo transmitter site on the Kamchatka peninsula. Long interview to 0730 the usual “this is Kamchatka” followed by the news and long dramatization. Started out poor and slowly improved. It is a shame that there is the ever present hum/motor-boating sounding transmitter which is interfering with itself, otherwise would be fair reception. (Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

South Korea
6015, 1411, KBS Hanminjok Bangsong 1(presumed) via Hwasong. Unusual to find a nice segment completely in the clear with no jamming. Korean with two men in conversation, 1416 easy-liustening pop song. Conversation continued to 1426 brief English lesson. Announer's “hello everyone” and explained about the word “arrival.” Signal poor, the heavy noise jamming kicked in at 1433. (Ron Howard, CA/Cumbre DX)

Sri Lanka
11905, 1529, SLBC. Start of Hindi program to India. Many IDs in English (!) by male and female announcers as: "This is Radio Ceylon calling to India." Male announcer gave local FM rundown and seemed to get a little lost as to where the tx'ers were located. Program went into local music and Hindi. Powerhouse signals with very little interference way underneath and slight fading. Four years and I am *still* trying to get a QSL out of these guys. It's just complete non-response. :-( (Al Muick, Kabul, Afghanistan).

Thailand
15275, *0000-0029, Radio Thailand. Sign on with opening English ID announcements and into news at 0001. Station promos. Ad for local restaurant. Dropped to a threshold level at 0029
when they switched their antenna beam heading towards Western North America. Signal poor-fair. (Brian Alexander, PA)
