Radio Netherlands Program Guide, July 8-14

Hello,
While here at RNW we're worrying about the future of our organisation, the future of our jobs, this week's Africa in Progress asks: Can the right to food help fight hunger? - That certainly puts our 'problems' into perspective...

The right to food is now recognised as a basic right in the Kenyan constitution. Does that mean that you can go up to your government and demand food, when in Kenya only, more than two million people need food assistance according to the World Food Programme?

In this edition of Africa in Progress we discuss food insecurity in Africa with Professor Ruth Oniang’o. She was the first female professor in food and nutrition in sub-Sahara Africa. A former member of parliament, she has fought to eradicate hunger in Kenya as well as in the whole of Africa.

First airing: Monday 18:00 UTC
